XTrillion, Inc. starts operations as a new company spun off from TeraRecon, Inc.
XTrillion, Inc. was founded on November 30, 2007, by spinning off the medical equipment development functions and the industrial CT development functions from the US corporation, TeraRecon, Inc. (a link to the website in the US), based on MBO (established on September 28, 2007). The company started operations with approximately 60 personnel, primarily engineers who had been working as the core staff for TeraRecon, Inc., by taking over the development sites in Japan, the US and Europe.
The company name, XTrillion, is the name of a processor designed specifically for signal and image processing, various generations of which have been produced continuously for over a decade in TeraRecon, Inc. Its development was started with the conviction that it will provide immeasurable benefits to medical diagnosis in the course of seeking superior radiation detection and imaging based on the most advanced IT technologies in the medical industry. Since the very beginning of its development, intensive R&D efforts have been applied to this processor and this concept has now been transferred to XTrillion, Inc. The XTrillion® processor is the culmination of our technological potential. XTrillion, Inc. will continue to develop modules incorporating the processor as the core as well as creating end products that contain the modules, thereby offering products that feature clearly differentiated image quality and image processing speeds to our customers.
We would like to express our gratitude for the good business relationships with our customers and look forward to their continuation well into the future.
